Treasure Valley Info is a community information guide for the Boise metropolitan area and the wider Treasure Valley of southwestern Idaho. Our coverage area includes Ada and Canyon counties — Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Garden City, and Middleton — as well as Gem County and the populated portions of Boise, Elmore, and Owyhee counties that share the valley's daily commute, weather, and watershed.
Our mission
We exist to make it faster for residents, newcomers, and visitors to find the official, authoritative source for whatever they need — the National Weather Service forecast for tomorrow's hike, the right county for a building permit, the river flow before floating the Boise River, or the closures list before the morning commute. The web has these answers scattered across dozens of city, county, state, and federal websites. We bring the trustworthy ones together in one place, organized by what you are trying to do.
Editorial standards
- Authoritative sources first. We prefer official government, public-safety, and established local sources over secondary or anonymous ones.
- Curated, not republished. We link to original sources rather than reproducing their content. When we summarize, we attribute.
- Local context. We add the background a visitor or new resident would not otherwise know — which agency does what, what a season looks like here, what the locals call something.
